We have created a new SPF record creation tool within the DNS management section of our client area. This will help you quickly and easily deploy an SPF record for your domain. A step by step guide is below. What is SPF Sender Policy Framework (SPF) records allow domain owners to publish a list of IP addresses or subnets that are authorized to send email on their behalf. The goal is to reduce the amount of spam and fraud by making it much harder for malicious senders to disguise their identity. More and more ISPs are rejecting mail if there is no valid SPF record within the DNS of the sending domain.
1. Once logged in to our client are, select ‘Domains – DNS management’
2. Select the required domain from the ‘Domains’ drop-down and click ‘Go’
3. Click the ‘Generate SPF’ button.
4. Select the relevant options and click ‘Add this record’
Note: Your server with Nimbus is capable of being used as a basic mail server, but the ongoing battle between spam management, hacking and blacklisting means that Office 365 and Google Apps are the go-to platforms if email is critical to your business/site. Read more here.
